Matthew J. De Geeter, ASID, LEED AP, Vice President of Strategic Initiatives, leads the effort for organization-wide programs to expand and improve the Society’s offerings that deliver the ASID value proposition to its stakeholders. Since joining headquarters staff in 2013, Matt has combined his previous experience as a professional interior designer and ASID volunteer leader with his business knowledge resulting in programs that support members and customers across market sectors and throughout their careers.
In his prior role, Matt led the Education & Engagement team at ASID which developed the career stage program strategy for ASID mapping together events, awards, and learning opportunities. Resulting programs included SCALE: The ASID National Student Summit, the ASID Student Portfolio Competition, the Ones to Watch program, and the updated ASID Academy platform. To guide these programs, Matt engaged multiple volunteer groups from advisory councils to national committees.
Previously, Matt was on the healthcare interiors team at the Washington, D.C. office of Perkins&Will implementing evidence-based design practices. As a volunteer leader with ASID, Matt served as a Director-at-Large on the ASID National Board of Directors, was a two-term Chair for the Emerging Professionals Advisory Council and held various chapter positions. Additionally, Matthew consulted as a brand manager for The Global Good Fund, a non-profit linking social investors to high potential young leaders.
Matt received his Bachelor of Science with Honors in Interior Design from Ball State University and is completing the Executive MBA program at Emory University Goizueta Business School.
